Hey guys,
Just wanted to open up discussion on the possibility of some KOTM games in MWC. I'd personally love to see it of course, but it does mean that people would have to use 1.8. There should be a PB2 shortly and the final version should be out before MWC starts, but in the mean time it's important that people find any issues with the beta on their machines - that haven't already been reported/fixed.
I think it's a neat game mode that should play pretty well in the MWC context, but it does have a trade-off with respect to people being up-to-date on the client, which has sometimes been an issue in the past (although mostly due to laziness).
Interested to hear thoughts.
Possibility of KOTM games
Re: Possibility of KOTM games
If KOTM is used it should be implemented in the QR to see how it plays out.

Agreed, would be nice to see it in a kickball game or two ahead of time as well to hone in on reasonable settings (time, maps, etc).Asmo wrote:If KOTM is used it should be implemented in the QR to see how it plays out.

I haven't downloaded the patch yet, but I'll check it out when I'll be going through maps for the tournament.

if KOTM is going to be implemented for QR, I would say all players have mandatory 1.8 patchgrim wrote:I haven't downloaded the patch yet, but I'll check it out when I'll be going through maps for the tournament.
Also remember 1.8 has the easy in-game re-host option, so no more host dropping.

Re: Possibility of KOTM games
KotM on Drowned Empire is absolutely insane. I still have no idea how to strat for that.
I have to say, though, I like the gametype a lot. Though it's intense, it really keeps the game moving. Players accustomed to the "standard" way of playing Myth (guarding crossings, not engaging till the end game, playing reactively) will likely find it challenging and fun to adapt to the new win conditions.
