Well I'd like to see boobs and I think that would be very successful.

Otherwise whether a tournament is 2 team (organized teams or draft or kickball) or FFA it can work providing its clear on when and how to signup and what times the games are going to be played.

If you go with a format where its 2 team (organized) then I'd plan on having 6 teams and run a league where everyone plays each other twice or perhaps where everyone plays each other once then we have a finals between the 2 top teams where the #1 ranked team starts 1-0 up because of their superior league position. I guess you could do a final match between the top 2 when everyones played each other twice too, but that would result in a long tournament.

2 team draft can work in the same way that Asmo's draft tourney did.

2 team kickball has the issue of not being that attractive since there's not much a competitive tournament feel to it, you could try running different captains every week and then the person who wins the most games wins the tournament. Yes its biased towards those who show up every week but frankly thats how it should be. 5 games per week and running it for 2 months wouldn't be too bad.

I'm not sure how much interest there is in a organized FFA tournament, I'd plan around 24 players signing up and running 3 weeks of games using igmo's standard oPoP scoring system. In regards to a show n' play FFA tournament like Milkman ran, you can certainly pull it off but I would immediately scrap whatever scoring method he used and replace it with something that can be calculated quickly to avoid confusion.

Personally I'm more interested in the less strict options of what I listed, Asmo's draft tourney was actually pretty fun and I'd like to see that again, while on the other hand I think I'd lack interest in a regular old 2 team tourney when we're not going to be getting more than 6 teams.

I like the ideas. I think we could run a 3-4 week kick ball tourney just to warm things up. I'm going on a trip the weekend of the 18th and most likely can't be on. So we could start the weekend after that or someone could just help out and run it that week.

Rat throw something together now, so u give people 3-4 weeks to show up / look at their schedules over the next month and plan etc. The sooner the better, I've seen mad old heads online including the infamous rat cruiser bones, not to mention heard from good players that they keep checking this website for a tournament before they actually get active.

I don't think a draft or kickball tournament (including the one i offered to organize) would work at all now. We need a nominal tournament with teams people choose/get hassled into joining to get the ball rolling

i think a 6 team tournament is a good idea.
each team plays another for QR's (5 weeks)
3v6 and 2v5 take place for playoffs, then winners play respective #1 or #2 seeds who have bye week (2 weeks)
finals (1 week)

total : 8 weeks, 2 months.
Rosters should also be capped around 8 or 10... its winter season seriously...

we should do a death match tournament

everyone online sucks now, no one wants to team with people who will cost their team too much units (this ain't a draft season)

the idea is, if in winter we play deathmatch (units respawn , etc) players will learn to actually be able to use their units in a tournament instead of getting them destroyed every time they get units

then mwc season you pick the teams the same way, but your units can die, etc, like how they usually do

then draft is , random teams, unit elimination etc.

1 year, 3 tournaments, 3 different styles
