Godhead articles all gone?
Godhead articles all gone?
So are Godhead articles just all gone unless the Gjol comes back online someday? But I want to read naaaaoooow!

Re: Godhead articles all gone?
They exist, but have to be converted from HTML to BBcode. Dac was going to do it at one point (he has a copy) but I haven't heard from him lately. I'll ping him when I get the chance but if anyone else has some time to do it, I'd be happy to get the help.
Re: Godhead articles all gone?
How about in the meantime just putting the HTML into the Tain, or the Mythgraveyard site?
Re: Godhead articles all gone?
If the owners of those sites want a copy of the relevant DB dump to that end, I'm happy to give it to them. Just PM me an e-mail address, etc.
Re: Godhead articles all gone?
The Tain is a huge user repository, central place for mods since forever, you can submit anything there. I'd assume your articles belong in the Myth II section under category "misc" (http://tain.totalcodex.net/mythii/misc). Other strategy guides are there. To submit stuff, go to tain's submission page:punkUser wrote:If the owners of those sites want a copy of the relevant DB dump to that end, I'm happy to give it to them. Mythgraveyard collects & archives everything, it's their mission (http://mythgraveyard.org/2). To get your stuff added, contact vinylrake:

Re: Godhead articles all gone?
... the point is that someone has to do the work to convert it all to a usable format. Neither of those sites is going to accept a raw HTML/database dump. I don't have time to do that. If you have time to do that I'll gladly give you the relevant file, but if someone does the work you might as well host it here along with the article comments.
i.e. hosting is not the problem, data conversion is. Neither of your options there bypasses the data conversion step.

Re: Godhead articles all gone?
Can you send me a sample file (or the whole thing) so I know what you're talking about? I know what HTML is. I don't know what your database dump looks like. Maybe I can convert it and you can host it here if you like.punkUser wrote:... the point is that someone has to do the work to convert it all to a usable format. Re: Godhead articles all gone?
Sure, I'll send you the file tonight. If you can convert it to BBcode or similar, we can put it into the relevant section in the forums. Note that there are online tools available that do stuff like that, but I haven't had time to investigate or test them.

You'd be better off just sending me a pm either here or at the magma forums if you want to contact me.jason_ac wrote:To get your stuff added, contact vinylrake:

Re: Godhead articles all gone?
Ok I sent the DB dump to a few people here. Hopefully someone manages to come through in terms of getting them posted soon. Thanks for the help, guys!
