Finals : the tale of the tape

Post by par73 »

Well with the results in, GKG beating Limp's team 3-2, and Dantski beating Zak's team 3-2, the single elimination rounds of the tournament have winded down to two remaining teams, and one final elimination.

Image
Team GKG - 16 wins, 7 losses, 2 ties. 4 match wins, 1 match loss.

GKG 9
Adren 9
myrk 8
Evil Jake 6
dac 5
pallidice 5
punkuser 3
classic 3
power total: 48

team gkg, featuring one of the finalist captains from last years draft, heavy hitters adren and myrk, and role players from evil jake to pallidice of DEER. These guys are the team to beat, the top cats, they will also be the team that could lose it all. They favor as winner of this match, but if you placed your bets with the perception of the total scores from TAs you would think different (48 to 50). if the match goes down to talent, with equal measurements of care, the underdogs would fall to this team.

Image
Team Dantski - 12 wins, 11 losses, 2 ties. 3 match wins, 2 match losses.

Dantski 8
Cruniac 8
Brown 8
Honkey 7
Milkman 6
Master Chief 5
Cookie 5
Alfi 3
power total: 50

team dantski, featuring one of those l33t really cool guys to play myth with, heavy hitters browning and cruniac, and role players from alfi to master chief of DEER. Team Dantski may be more flexibile than GKG's in team of roter strength, as they are +2 in power total; Team Dantski could also be looked at as 5 players against GKG's 4 (in an elitist, "Who would make it to an mwc finals" type of way), or even 3. These guys are the underdogs, they need to want (and to care) to win more than GKG's team, in order to upset the favored team.

Tallow Abbey had misplaced CTF flags so I've uploaded a new version, which is pending approval on the tain.

uhmm did you even look at these maps before you picked them? These are really really bad.

some of them could be ok with the right mesh/game type

isn't the name of the "hills of venice" plugin actually called "hills of the crow" ? Hills of death is the name of one of the meshes.

the "hills of venice" mesh is a mesh within the "hills of the crow T.E" plugin. venice x2 format.

Map problems!

River is fine
Sleepy is fine
Myopia has stupid teleporting shit, cut it.
Hills, we did venice x2 map last round, also souls aren't nearly as much fun as archers. Cut it.
Tallow, if flags are fixes should be fine.
4 leaved fen has major terrain passability issues with fetch and water, cut it.
Eyrie is fine.

So we need replacements for Myopia, Hills and 4Fen.

im actually fine with the maps.

myopia's teleporting shit isn't going to matter that much.
venice, w/e
4 leaved fens only has 1 spot that has an issue with the fetch crossing water near SE start from what I can tell, which probably won't matter.

however if there are any changes to the maps, it needs to be done asap and without any further changes after that.

pretty much agree with dantski, tallow is a really good map just unfortunate the trow mesh isn't being used which is the best one for that map.

River Town is a really terrible map and i'm surprised anyone would even consider choosing that for anything other than a QR map.

Is this a tournament finals or a project magma map testing crew?

I have GKG tagset, tallow abbey, green acres, and eyrie modifications pending approval on the tain.

The question is will they get around to it before sunday?

Do we need them for sunday? Paris already linked the stuff we're using above, no?

If we do need them, why not just post them here in the mean time or similar.

Okay, I'm fine with that. If it isn't fixed by sunday on the tain we may have issues with people finding the downloads though. I would suggest changing tallow to that cavalry map used in asmo's finals, if thats the case.

Okay, the maps have all been approved on the tain, so the current download is the correct one. If you downloaded the maps before I posted this post, then re-download.

Are there any alternate download links for these, the tain isn't working.
