Which gaming mouse should I get?
Hello,
I was thinking about buying myself a real gaming mouse, now I just have a mini-mouse that game with my laptop and a trackball.
I heard GKG recommends logitech MX518, but this one seems pretty old. Doesn't mean it's bad, but I think there's something better on the market by now.
So, any recommendations?
What do you use?
Edit:
Info on my gaming:
-I mostly play myth
-I sometimes play (fast!) FPS, the main reason I stopped playing it often was I couldn't aim as good as other people and I didn't like to die so much
-I've never used binds and I'm not really planning on using them a lot, so I don't need a mouse with 12 little buttons or something
-I like to be able to move the pointer of my mouse fast and accurate even when I'm not gaming

The MX518 is a solid mouse that has been around for a long time and really doesn't need much change. However, it can be a bit uncomfortable for some people. I myself used one for 10+ years before finally switching to my current DeatherAdder. Honestly, when it comes to something like a mouse, all of them are going to be precice with fast response times, it really comes down to personal preference. My recommendation would be to go to a best buy or some other large store where you can try them out and see how they feel for yourself and then either order online or just buy from the store. People can give you many recommendations but it really matters how it feels in your hand.

Yeah, try them out and see what you like at a store. Logitech G500 (sort of where the MX line developed into the gaming line) and Razor DeathAddr are both solid choices - see if you like the feel of either of them.
Re: Which gaming mouse should I get?
you people are all wrong. logitech mouses just suck and are very uncomfortable, deathadder is ok but a little too big and clumsy. what you want is a light, cheap, great gaming mouse like razer abyssus. claw-grip is of course the only way to hold a mouse.
edit, i believe some cm storm mouses are also ok, but i prefer ambidextrous mouses

I don't not agree light mouses are good. I have a mini-mouse now and it sucks for gaming, but I've never really taken the effort to look at the options available on the market.

i have a deathadder and i love it... don't find it to be big at all.

I have used this for the last 5 years.

I use a default dell laser mouse I got with my laptop about 5 years ago. it has 4 preset levels of mouse speed, a mouse wheel, two top mouse buttons, and a smaller button on each side of the mouse. it works perfectly fine and i don't even use a mouse pad. it probably costs something like 15 dollars.

for myth, mouse hardly makes a difference... i played with a complete piece of shit 10 yr old mouse forever and didn't have any issues. I only bothered getting new hardware when I started playing an FPS.
Re: Which gaming mouse should I get?
i used to play a lot of fps back in the day.
and i've played a few rpgs here and there.
if i actually cared to start playing fps's again and took them seriously i would probably buy a new mouse, or at least a mouse pad.
myth 2 is a low budget game, and that's just fine with me

Razer Naga, which is a MMORPG mouse has 12 thumb buttons on the side, you can use them for your formations if you use the alternate presets in 1.8 or for other things. It takes some getting used to but it's not bad at all. You can also program it for different games and it will auto switch profiles when you boot different games. I got it back when I was playing WoW. It's pricey though. It looks like they have a new one out with interchangeable side pieces to adjust for comfort.

I've actually been using claw grip all the time without knowing it was named claw grip.
Learned something again!
