I was just wondering how many people use this function and if they like it better than the old system.
seems pretty decent to me as long as u change the key from H to something differnt. Also 1 benefit i notice while using it was that it keeps a preset using the same formation every time which is very handy.

Why change the H key? Did you mean a different key? If you want to center the screen on your preset using the alternate preset recall, then double tap the number key of that preset. (All this info is in the Myth II Help file. Go to prefs and click on the "?" button or just find it in your myth2 folder.)
Using the same formation every time is done for both default and alternate preset recall modes. If you had to keep setting the formation each time, you had "Disable Persistent Formations" checked in preferences all this time.

I assume he means changing the "F" key, i.e. the formations key in alternate mode. F seems pretty usable to me though as it's right where my index finger sits, but to each his/her own.

I don't use it yet... honestly haven't even tried... the old way works fine for me, and I prefer the one-touch # keys for formations, as I change formations a lot.

The two-touch formations are what ruin it. Quick formation recall is key for good microing. I don't know if I could get used to changing presets and formations roles around. Alt + number is the formation while number keys recall presets. That would be an idea one if you could master it, but its hard to convert old habits.
