This website will not open for me at all... keeps trying to open mythworldcuo2013.com. Also... why do we need 3 fucking websites for this tourney... just do everything here in these forums for fuck sake...

There is not 3 websites. There is one and the forums, this is how it has always been. Also have fun running a tournament from only the forums with 8 or more sticky threads which make the other post on the forums disappear almost instantly.

it's been done before without much problems.

anyways, was finally able to open the website... looks pretty good. simple, but good. You should fix the link to these forums though... it currently links to the main forum index... should probably link directly to the MWC13 index.

Gonna do anything with linking player names to TAs or anything? stats?

If you wanted me to link the players name directly to the TA's here on the forums that would be easy, if you want clicking their team to link it to their own individual TA on the website that would be a little bit more work but something I could possibly do depending on how much time I have.

I'm not going to do the stats personally, but if someone records and updates the stats weekly I can transfer that data over to the website.

If everyone upgrades to 1.8 and plays the matches on Punk's metaserver - Gate Of Storms - it AUTOMATICALLY does all of the stats for you. Just fyi, may want to consider upgrading / transitioning over there at some point.

Can this already dwindling community withstand another migration to a new metaserver. Each time it has happened, the community has lost a shit ton of players... that said, no better time than MWC to implement such a change.

yes but also consider it has never been easier to do it before either. it literally takes 2 clicks to switch over. it's automatically built into 1.8. you don't need to do anything except have 1.8, that's it.

Isn't this website built on webs.com ?
I don't even see a bit of user code chunk there.

the first time it happened mwc got canceled
the second time it happened ppl had more time to switch and mwc went on
how is mwc the time to implement such a change?
it might be better to have matches specifically (or better games in general) be played on the meta server as long as player eligibility can be confirmed for the tournament. i.e. ip checks; no dummies

To be clear, I don't think people are proposing anyone "transitions" to GoS for regular play. Just play the tourney matches there, then head back over to MariusNet. As GKG says, it's just a couple clicks... barely harder than switching rooms.

And yeah, I sure as hell am not going to expend any effort this year gathering stats when I've already developed a perfectly good infrastructure to do automatically and also collect all the films in one place without needing folks to save them and upload. If people don't want to use it, fine, but it'll save a lot of time and effort as it was all designed for this express purpose...

doesn't this mean people could dummy really easily then or do we use the same account to use this server?

How is it not working? Where are you trying to post your article? You submit them at the frontpage. After that me or toxyn approve them and they become visible/the thread for it opens up at the forum.

sorry asmo dont want to bust your nut on this but there are now 12 registered teams and your site is catering for 8 teams. Might want to change this in the future.

No more easily than on Mnet... you obviously don't use the same account, but just sign up for one and post it with your team registration (or more easily, just use your regular name... I know, weird concept). On GoS your nickname *is* your login (even in-game) so no need to try and cross-reference it all for tourney matches. Guests cannot enter tourney rooms as well, so play the games there and you're guaranteed that everyone is their login name.

And again I'll note that I tried to get "thegjol" and the new metaserver stuff merged, but grim/toxyn went their own way. I've PMed toxyn to discuss merging them yet again at grim's request, but no response. There's nothing more I can do on that front without cooperation from other folks; similar with MariusNet.

If people are required to post films and/or they care about stats, using GoS is *less* work, and that is the entire point. It takes you less time to just hop over there and play than it does to collect and post films after the match, and this way no one will ever have to go hunting through old forum threads to find replays for other games. I'm really trying to help people be more lazy here, not add more overhead...

I'm waiting for Paris to move them into the TA section, because 3 of those 4 teams do not look legit.
