Week 2 Power Rankings

Myth World Cup 2013
QR2 Power Rankings

Hello ladies and gentlemen, Paris here again to give you the scoop on MWC Power Rankings. Following Week 2 we see familiar faces at the top of the list as well as the bottom, as well as some major movers. These rankings are not official, but provide insight on the chapters these teams are writing in the book of MWC13.

I am currently contemplating getting a tattoo similar to this...

#10 The Blades
Last Match 4 Losses and 1 win to Deer
Last Week (9) Move -1

The Blades have shocked the myth world once again, winning thier first game of the cup (and now every team participating has won at least one game). With that said, they are lacking firepower and players to help fill their spots. If they want to shock the myth world they need to win their match next week, and this is unlikely and less some unlikely heroes step up to join The Blades for the remainder of the tournament (about three weeks as their life line is looking shorter than others). They lost to a consistent Deer squad last week and play Devils Rejects this weekend, who are looking to sweep them to avoid playing a higher seed early in the DE.

Grass coming out like this? Time to buy a new blade... Hopefully you'll get one with inner thigh.

#9 Devils Rejects
Last Match 4 Losses and 1 Win to WTC
Last Week (6) Move -3

Devils Rejects are certainly lacking in firepower as they ahve come up short of victory in both of their matches. This week they play the blades which they will certainly look to pull out the broom sticks for. Out of the three teams that have played the blades so far, I would say this is the best one on paper. However, two match losses to two not so consistent teams doesn't bode well for their power ranking. I am looking for these guys to jump up next week with a victory over the Blades, but that depends more on other teams playing terrible than the devil's rejects actual performance.

Brilliant quote by Rufus before he offs some stupid fuck in the Rob Zombie Flick, maybe DR will use it this weekend.

#8 TCOX
Last Match 5 Losses to TMNS
Last Week (3) Move -5

These guys aren't looking so good, someone might wonder about their low power ranking but having a 30% win success ain't gunna help them. They got blanked out by TMNS; if bubblejet is CW he is not doing so well at all (contrary to dantski belief). Cave has also not shown up for them yet, which is a huge missing link that needs to be addressed. Cave is the heart and soul of thundercox, and while it's a dark and mysterious one; they will thrive on his presence. A tough match against ZOMG awaits them, who has been on fire lately. If TCOX can extinguish ZOMG next week with a strong showing, they might have some unpredicted fire left in their belly.
Image
Norse culture always reminded me of TCOX, here Zer battles at the legendary battle of Ragnarok.

#7 ULMS
Last Match 1 Win and 4 Losses to ZOMG
Last Week (7) No Move

Ah, the first of the .500%'s to take the middle of the pack. ULMS expectedly lost against ZOMG last week, but taking a win off ZOMG could be considered a special achievement for them. Next week they will play a team that will match up the best with them during the QRs, DEER. DEER has been on a hot streak lately and will most likely be taking steps to defeat ULMS, if ULMS can out-prepare and out-play DEER they will be looking a lot better than I expect them to after next week.
Image
ULMS, still standing...

#6 TMNT
Last Match 2 Wins and 3 Losses to Agents
Last Week (5) Move -1

TMNT has yet to win a match and has faced fairly similar teams in terms of caliber. They are having major issues with team chemistry and preparation, as well as motivation. Once picked to be a wrecking ball in this tournament, that vision is no longer clear. TMNT are having trouble holding down wins and have been losing their match ups (or at least, poorly matching up). There also seems to be some sort of confusion or lack of settling in regards to who will be playing the captain role How they play against TMNS next week will set the tone they will be leaving the QR with and in terms of team morale they will hopefully be playing for a positive one.
Image
Trapping themselves in a rush on game five against Agents, they should have called themselves Teenage Mutant Ninja Rabbits if they planned on rushing; for the slow turtle always wins the race...

#5 WTC
Last Match 4 wins and 1 Loss to Devils Rejects (and 1 Win 3 Losses and 1 Forfeit Loss to DEER in an offical QR Rematch)
Last Week (8) Move +3

Predicted to be a bunk team by many, WTC has been struggling with attendence during the QRs. However there has been a spark of life left in this team which was originally harassed by Zak for having chemistry problems. They had the honor and dignity to replay Deer which goes a long way for them, a lot longer than taking the QRs so serious to team implosion. If they can find some capable subs (instead of booting them out of the game) and have a consistent showing of at least 6 of their players for every remaining week, WTC may pull some fun out of this tournament. Still, next week won't exactly be easy for them as their opponent has played two stronger teams the previous week and will be matching them wherever the Wu want to strike.
Image
Rumor has it, Evil Jake has once again been banned from playing video games by his step mother and is now attending summer camp. Or maybe he's just playing WoW 5 years too late.

#4 Deer
Last Match 4 wins and 1 Loss to the Blades
Last Week (10) Move +6

Deer has been on fire, averaging 4 wins per match and is currently seeded at #1 to exit the qrs, which I don't think DEER has ever done. They have been playing strong and consistently, but arguably against weaker opponents in the tournament. They are most likely favored to win over ULMS but may run into some problems if ULMS shows up with a full squad. As the saga of the DEER continues, one may wonder will be in store for this team looking to survive in mwc as long as possible.
Image
With sasper sleeping around with opponents in the QR's, DEER is set to have the best record in MWC.

#3 Agents
Last Match 3 Wins and 2 Losses to TMNT
Last Week (4) Move +1

Agents went from having 6 player disconnections in 5 games to 0, and also defeated a poorly organized TMNT squad. Despite beating TMNT, they gave away easy wins. Metagaming and team cohesion seem to be the keys to this squad, perhaps they are throwing away games to better their chances at more enjoyable games with their team. Up next week they play a fairly quiet Wu Tang Clan, and are expected to win the match. Sweeping WTC may cause Agents to flex their muscles a little to soon in the tournament, and they may look to coast until the qualifying rounds are completed.
Image
Rumors have been stipulating around a Thundercox Agents merger following the qualifying rounds, maybe it will look something like this.

#2 ZOMG
Last Match 4 Wins and 1 Loss to ULMS
Last Week (1) Move -1

Failing to sweep ULMS knocked ZOMG out of the #1 Power Rankings spot. However, this team is still hotter than cheesy curly fries are to zagon. Their matchup against TCOX won't seem to be a very good one, and they will look to hand TCOX their second sweep of the tournament. ZOMG has gained a high QR exit sporting a 70% win percentage, how they do against TCOX will either gain them a bye week for DE1 or negatively impact their power ranking. If they are looking to play in DE1, they may choose to lose the majority or all of their games against TCOX.

Ghenis offers some insight on his favorite ways to enjoy victory.

#1 TMNS
Last Match 5 Wins against TCOX
Last Week (2) Move +1

A strong showing against an ancient foe, the Thundercox, reveals the true nature and power of TMNS. These guys are highly decorated save zak, who seems to be their fearless leader that they have united around. Their name, Teenage Mutant Ninja Squirtles, mocks their next weeks opponents; it seems that Zak had prepared his roster for this very confrontation from the beginning of MWC itself. TMNS has a chance to emerge from the qualifying rounds as the most dominant team as per results, the only thing standing in their way is a few old friends and foes that they will most likely meet again.
Image
Perhaps they should have named themselves the Teenage Mutant Ninja Blastoise's by the way they have been playing...

Last week we saw an expansion in the number of players who played well for their teams determined by their in-game statistics; here are the power players from qualifying round 2.

i can't make up my mind about #1 or not, but the top 3 are definitely far left, and the 2nd and 3rd from the right. after that the hotness falls significantly. kind of like mwc teams.
