First year since 2002 with no MWC?

A single berserk reached us yesterday, after having come all the way over the mountains from the city of Willow, fourteen hundred miles away. He delivered to Alric a single package the size of a man's fist, wrapped in rags, and refuses to talk with anyone about events in the West.

MWC will be replaced by a superior tournament. It will be incredible. You will love the way it's run. It's going to be grand, very grand. The best.

Cu, you won't believe how good it is. We're going to make Myth Great Again.

It's going to be the Trump Myth World Cup. My associate Grim, who is wonderful at management will run it.

The purse will be amazing.

These latter year MWC's are just a chance for perennially terrible Mythers to have a shot at winning something because nobody over 3-4 balls still plays competitively. People like asmodian and myrk get closer and closer to winning their first tournament. Hell, it will probably just be asmo vs myrk in this mwc and they both lose because they tried to use dummy accounts and both disqualified each other.

The forums are all about care grim, you've been one of the best to bring that out of people.

With the current uptrend in user participation it's optimistic thinking that you might actually show up on the server or *gasp* even play a game.
That would surely cause a commotion among the forums.
Imagine if you played in more than one game? An Uproar.
We best not get our hopes up.

MWC myth is some of the best myth, a gathering of players who love the game for many different reasons. Since 2007, it's been a plethora of team stacking to the point where a lot of the original fun of MWC's has been lost. More and more we've seen one sided matches because people care about a digital trophy case, less and less has it been more than 1/3 or less of the involved players having fun.
The overall atmosphere changed to support those who were competing to win for fun and divert those who were playing to play for fun. If your team failed to show up with 6 you were ruined because the only other teams you were against were doing the opposite. Using substitute players has been a double-edged sword, but has done something to include more of us in the games we play.
Last year we had a 17 day registration period and no website, I won't bother reiterating how stupid it is to exclude people who enjoy the game differently than others at this point. People should be thankful we've been able to play, gather and bicker at this point instead.

So let's do this instead.

We open the registration right now, in this thread. You, grimothy cock of thunder, need to be the one who creates the thread, you've already gone ahead and done that.

But now you must rename the thread to MWC2016 Pre-Registration Opens and quote the following in your initial post:

MWC Registration Overview
  • Cap your gathering of friends at 8 for now, we all know none of us have more than that anyway!
    • Especially since most are married with children! Send emails to those 8, and tell them to pass on the word; get the jealousy stirring to those they aren't apart of your gathering of friends and like all mythers in typical high schooler fashion they will form their own clique to extract their envious revenge.
  • The day of the first matches, rosters are then opened to 10 and teams may add players before or after their match.
    • I really have no idea what happened with the owls/etherials debacle last mwc but it most definitely wasn't as myth cool as the thundercox/timewizards merge. In light of this, you will likely see roster sizes increase when teams begin being eliminated. This will give those eliminated a chance to play again in the tournament.
  • When MWC is ready (with a website), the teams already know they will be scheduled to play myth some consecutive weekends in the summer, potentially without a break if it's their fancy. This will be around the second or third week in June, and the players who register their teams here will be spammed through private message with reminders so it's suggested they turn email notifications on after they sign up!
    • It's really up to them if they want to sign on, show up, forfeit, forum/lobby mingle, practice, form strategies, but those are the patterned traditions you see every MWC.
  • Winners will receive their respective copies of deadhold (thanks to fisj) and saturated M2SBR (thanks to Np).
    • Who knows, someone might show up and donate some other prizes. That 500$ for a tffa tournament really came out of nowhere. If a betting pool was established, I'd donate 50$ to the winner.
  • Maybe if there is enough interest we will have a website where players can write their own TA's about individual players.
Any changes from last year?
  • The QRs will be round-robin and take place during 3 weeks, forfeits will be final in this period but could be rescheduled if the team who did show up is kind and enjoys playing myth for what it's worth.
    • A team who forfeits every match will be eliminated, a team who shows up to one match is still going to have the opportunity to play.
    • Teams will be pooled if there are more than 6 registered.
  • We will be using grim's 8-pt system for matches despite the fact Butcher's was clearly superior.
    • I'd like to hear on how to score King of the Map using the 8-pt system. I'm thinking ratio to winning time but KROK V8 presence is +8.
  • Seeding will be based off the team's performance and average differential.
  • No Subs, No Dummying
  • Potential Triple Elimination for extended forum reading
The key to opening MWC team registrations is now in your hand Mr. Donald grim, don't take too long to open them.

KIRK - Hell, it will probably just be asmo vs myrk in this mwc and they both lose because they tried to use dummy accounts and both disqualified each other.

Ha hahahah. That's like 2 marksmen having a dual, they take their paces, turn and shoot, and kill each other. Or the bullets hit in midair between them and explode.

V\JaHRaL T.O.A.D.V\ is a free agent for the tournaments.

If I don't get invited to play with one, I may try to start a rabble team.

You all have a great day

Let's be clear here guys. the top 1% of myth teams have consolidated 99% of myth skill. This kind of inequity is ruining myth middle class and fun myth games require a strong middle class. its time to take on the status quo and break up these super teams! Seeker won't do it - you know he just panders to the elites and wants to push their agenda. Feel the burn from Paris in Flames my friends!

Weekly Columns!
We are currently looking for several volunteers to commit to a weekly column for this mwc. Current areas are:

Match of the Week
Blunder of the Week
Ego of the Week
Player of the Week
Team of the Week

But if you have a good idea for another weekly column, we will definitely consider it. If interested, send a PM to Wighty (mauddib) or me (Black Forest Cake).

Keep em commin!
At last glance, about 18 teams had registered. That puts us over half-way toward our desired 32 team roster with 2 weeks to go! Keep the registrations coming, and we can have the best tourney since mwc2k1!

@cheezefist refer to the modern elfroidian poster for how to submit the imaginary team!
but really teams could just post with text their players/teams now while a website gets prepared. Registration is open whether grim is lazy or not now ! oho eat that grim !

@aki stay tuned! efforts being made here to bring a website to mwc16, maybe with some old fashioned magic.

Forming a team with Enc/Rabican/TB/Zak/Cu.

Cheeze is allowed in, after he passes the tryout. The tryout consists of roasting Zak.

A good roast of Zak - he's in.
A bad roast - his spot goes to KROK.
