Proving Grounds Dueling pack
I'm doing a new version of the 1v1 Proving Grounds pack. In case you dont know what it is, it is different unit sets on the Proving Grounds mesh for more even and fair 1v1s (or 2 tm). There is no mid hill to take, both team have equal starts. Its good for straight up head to head fighting. PG/KG are more fair on this also since the puss is even on both sides. Its fun to play and is good for practicing BC skills since it is just a straight up head to head fight on level ground.
Some people have given me some suggestions that I am using on these maps. Here are the changes and additions. Anyone have any other suggestions or unit sets they would like to see?
1) Removed the Mort round duds. (except on PG/KG variant)
2) Moved starts positions closer. (except on PG/KG variant)
3) Fixed camera start positions.
4) Added the same rain sequence to the Drowned Kingdom/Empire variant.
5) Renamed it to "Proving Grounds Dueling Pack"
Here are the unit sets already in the pack and also ones I am adding.
Current unit sets:
1) Gimble unit set
2) Gyre unit set
3) Raid unit set
4) Demise unit set
5) Untamed unit set
6) Badlands unit set
7) Proving Grounds
8) Killing Grounds
9) Grave unit set
10) Web unit set
11) Chest unit set
12) Float unit set
13) Venice unit set
14) Drowned Kingdom unit set (with rain)
Unit sets I will be adding. These are big 2 team sets they may or may not work good on a smaller mesh like this. They could be intense close quarter fighting or there may not be enough room but I'm going to add them anyway.
1) Clash
2) Cracks
3) Trow
4) Desert
5) Drowned Empire (with rain)
6) Winter (with snow)
Then I had some ideas for different unit sets for dueling or training. Id like to get some opinions on these and suggestions for other unit sets you would like.
1) Arcs and Ghols
2) Arcs and Dwarfs
3) Dwarfs and Ghols
4) Dwarfs and melee (maybe a Light and Dark variant) Should I have variants with and without Ghols?
Some all melee sets I was thinking of:
1) Warrs, Stygs, Jmen, Thralls
2) Myrks, Mauls
3) HG, Warrs, Stygs
4) HGH (Each team depending on difficulty gets all HGH. Not sure on amount but maybe 6 Timid - 24 Legendary so could be 3 per Player with 8 Players)
5) Trow + ? (I would like to have a Trow variant/s but not sure what other units to add.
Any other unit combos you would like? Or other suggestions?

Re: Proving Grounds Dueling pack
Thanks Ew for some feedback.
I am wanting to have a variant with Fetch but I'm not sure exactly how I should do it. The idea behind some of these maps are to help improve Player skill by letting Players focus on one or two unit types at a time. So that if you want to work on your Fetching skills for example, you can play this VS someone and do that. I am thinking of Fetch and Stygs (vs having just Fetch) which I think is more useful and true to having the Fetch role in a big 2 tm. So each Player getting so many Fetch and Stygs vs another with the same. Some of these will have additional units based on difficulty but what would be a good mix of Fetch and Stygs for a 1v1 duel? 2 Fetch 6 Stygs per Player on Normal? Then additional units on higher difficulties for like 2v2 or 3v3?
What about Locks? Locks plus what other unit and how many?

Re: Proving Grounds Dueling pack
is this plugin available yet because I want to use it in the 1v1 tournament.
are pus duds still on the ground? I'd like to take that out too if you haven't, so that there are absolutely no start advantages.

I just finished the updated version of Proving Grounds Dueling Pack 1. I am going to do a few of these. This is part one. This one is all of the standard Bungie unit sets of PG mesh. Re: Proving Grounds Dueling pack
so there's still pus on the ground that disadvantages certain starts? ugh.

This could be fixed very fast, if he's willing to make a new version.Giant Killer General wrote:so there's still pus on the ground that disadvantages certain starts? ugh.

Re: Proving Grounds Dueling pack
The only puss and mort shells are on the KG/PG variants as that has always been a big part of the strategy on those maps. But each side has an equal amount of puss and mort shells in the same relative positions for each side. So it is even for both sides. Each side has 3 puss and 7 mort shells. Normal PG/KG has 6 puss and 15 mort shells. This has 1 less mort shell. I can change it but I figure it wouldnt be the same without them especially KG.Giant Killer General wrote:so there's still pus on the ground that disadvantages certain starts? ugh.
