Does it need to happen at all? Nothing forbids the captains from simply agreeing to which maps prior to the match. Maybe they mean 1v1 if one captain objects to a pick.

For the barely conscious like myself, could you indicate or rate the players (on the team listings or wherever) on how likely you thought they are to show up? I haven't seen gk all summer, but he's somehow still far more likely to play than JeffTM, and I only know that by accident.

Might I propose first to 4 wins, win by 2. The map picking process already looks pretty wonky, so potentially going into a game 7 with a chance of playing something utterly ridiculous because of a 1v1 seems silly. These are good teams. Maybe such impetuous randomness could be scaled back a bit.
