Kilgrath of Aesir. Legendary player. From what I can tell, an inscrutable human. So, I tried to shine some scrutiny on Kilgrath by asking his friend, paris about him. Here's what paris had to say:
hes the lizard king
i think hes played 2 games all year
we need kilg in the chat
maybe he will come here more than play myth !
idk if kilg is reachable, most likely just lizard king
This was not very informative. Maybe, there's another way to learn more about him. Hmm...he has made an unverifiable claim to winning an MWC at some point in the past. Let's investigate this claim.
The Beginning - MWC 2000/2001: Kilgrath first emerged on the competitive scene as a member of the order Aesir. They were lead by the indomitable J-Ditty, a player of competent skill level, most known for his giant ego. The team was also composed of other giant egos like Goddess Mei. They were one of the major inspirations for Street Fighter in mwc 2000. They were the epitome of the delusional rank obsessed game player whose personality & social graces are very similar to the likes of rawr. Aesir did not kick all kinds of ass in mwc 2000. They did better in mwc 2001. However, they did not kick all kinds of ass in that tournament either.
His threat assessment in 2001 was as follows:
Kilgrath is a wildcard player, who we predict will often receive ghol horde and ball dribbling duty.
He is unlikely to dictate play.
He's a far better player now than he was back then. That's not the point of this piece though. The point of this piece is trying to figure out when Kilgrath won an MWC. I can affirmatively state that Kilgrath did not win an MWC in 2000 or 2001.
2002: There was no MWC in 2002. There was a tournament called The Fall Classic though. It was an "MWC substitute." Kilgrath was part of a team called Blood Pact. They did not win this tournament. NP did.
2003: There was an MWC in 2003. Kilgrath did play in this MWC. He was a part of the Syndicate, creating some symmetry here as he is part of the "new" Syndicate. Unfortunately he was not the leader of Syn. In fact, some of the more senior members of Syn such as Shaitan frequent the Myth Chat on Discord. There was also reference to Kilgrath being butt buddies with Cruiser. Like me, Cruiser is another forum patrol warrior whom you wouldn't see that much in games. You'll see Cruiser often pop up on teams with Kilgrath on them. He's probably the person who could offer the most insight on Kilgrath. Unfortunately, he's not around that much anymore.
2004: Kilgrath was part of a power team in 2004 that imploded pre-tournament. I do not remember what the name of that team was... perhaps grim or limp may remember. Regardless, after that team imploded, he joined Team Name, lead by Bullseye & Phod. That team had a lot of hype going for it, but didn't have much notable accomplishments within the tournament. I believe they finished a very uncompetitive fourth. They got shellacked by BME when they played them. The most notable thing this team accomplished was driving Phod forever away from Myth. Apparently Nemesis was insane.
2005: Kilgrath played in this MWC tournament as well. Sources say that he was a member of the team Swedish Meatballs, that finished tenth. I thought it was Mostly Harmless, which I believe was a bit of a reunion for Team Aesir. They finished sixth in a tournament that didn't finish. Not much else can be gleaned.
2006: This is the year that saw more herding among the top tier talents into power teams and the destruction of "four trow" level teams that were composed of three-four four ball players and an assortment of two-three ball players. As a consequence, Kilgrath graduated onto the "BIA" team of this year. This team finished fourth. There was a fair amount of drama involved with that team. I'll let someone else fill you in on that. It was also the last year that hitlow and limp were on a BIA team. .
2007: This year saw Kilgrath continue his service with "BIA." At this point, one could consider him a core member of the squad. He was pretty tight with raz & VERMINIX at this point. This was also the MWC that saw all the power players get fully consolidated onto the "big four," with the notable exceptions of ducky & neo. According to the stats, he didn't show up to a single game this year. Was that actually the case? Hmm...
2008: Kilgrath joins up with 12 Tasks at this point. BIA semi-imploded around this time. This was Kilgrath's low point in his Myth history. Lowlights include getting obliterated by Knighthawk on a flank several times. Also: getting benched in the Finals.
2009: After shedding Kilgrath, NC finally wins their first MWC championship. I don't remember what team Kilgrath was on. However, it wasn't the championship team.
2010: Luckily, this MWC's site is still up: http://myth2.com/index.php?page=oldnews (Thanks Liger). Kilgrath found himself on an Armageddon-esque team lead by paris. He now adopted the name Lizard King.
2011: Chicago Bulls won this year. Kilgrath was not on the team.
2012: South Parkians won this year. A Paris-lead team. Kilgrath was not on this team from what I was told. He was on Monty's team instead. This was the year which saw the dissolution of the power teams in favor of, "Shit. There's not enough players. Get who you can."
2013: This year saw Kilgrath join Wu-Tang Clan. Leading to the present day. No MWC championship.
2014/2015: Nope.
What we have learned today is that based on research, Kilgrath has not won an MWC, unless nine let him use the Cannibal Ox account while he was on BME, or he dummied on South Park. I do not think either of these outcomes to be likely. Therefore, I do not think Kilgrath has won an MWC.

Re: Kilgrath: Deep Diving into the Year He Won MWC
So, when you use the abbreviation, you sound out (in your head) the individual letters? "em : double-you : see"? I just read it as "myth world cup", and therefore use "a" for the article. There was an MWC
Re: Kilgrath: Deep Diving into the Year He Won MWC
I don't read it/hear it as "Myth World Cup."
You are correct.
You are correct.
Re: Kilgrath: Deep Diving into the Year He Won MWC
According to Kilgrath he's the last of the 'good' players left on myth who won when it mattered. Has he been lying to me all this time?
Re: Kilgrath: Deep Diving into the Year He Won MWC
Kilg was on a paris team in 09 called fuklol
Re: Kilgrath: Deep Diving into the Year He Won MWC
Update:
Forgot to mention that in 2003/2004 Kilgrath's application to BME was denied.

Seeker: the 2004 implosion team was "Big Robots with Lasers for Eyes"
You need to do a better job of researching your exposes before you publish them. This is just a washington-post style smear job. Poor Kilgrath is treated very unfairly. Just like Trump.
