So if the tourney matches will be coordinated thru forums, no proper archiving of matches and lack of player database, how is gjol helping?
How is it any better than freeforums.org?
Just a thought!

On a constructive note, hoping to see more tourney-oriented gjol for mwc.

Do you know they recovered more TB(s) of disk from obl's compound than whole of myth community's combined?

Speaking of a more automated tourney/stats/replay setup, I've made a fair amount of progress on that sort of system myself. Originally toxyn was going to do his own thing and see how we could combine our efforts/prototypes later, but seeing as I think he's been fairly disconnected, it might make sense to re-evaluate that plan. The stuff I've been doing could be integrated pretty directly into the Gjol (including existing forum accounts) but would require a bit fancier hosting and I'd need some access to integrate it. In the mean time though I can demo what I have so far to grim or other potential TOs and see if it's something that they'd be interested in, and then we can figure out where it could live if so.

This forum needs persistent login. Having to login every time I want to post or read my team's private forum or asmo's private forum is really annoying.

No ads + a steady forum that you don't need to change for every tournament. Article database for once that people have been asking for years. Hopefully a year long activity instead just dying off during the fall. Maybe those things? The site isn't completely done anyway.
And for people planning for complicated tournament sites again, just make sure that
you are ready to host the tournament then. The community hasn't had enough commitment for tournaments to run the more complicated sites properly for years. Punkuser, you should reelly PM toxyn about these things. He comes to this forum on a near daily basis.

There is persistent login; I've already forgotten my pw. The problem is that the private forum's pw can't be stored by the browser w/o it overwriting the main site login pw. Someone said the team forums should've been done as Groups, with the Captain able to add members. This would remove the need for another pw, and only members of a Group would even see the private forum. I have no idea why this still hasn't been implemented. If this place is still dysfunctional by MWC -- including the fucking attachment limit -- its existence is pointless. Props to Toxyn for the free work, but that doesn't mean this place doesn't have serious issues functionally.
p.s. Who sees (unwanted) ads anymore? Besides, all ads aren't evil. A few could generate prize money or thank Toxyn.
