I have organized a Draft tournament following the past 2 MWC tournaments because they are more appealing to a different crowd of players. I'm willing to host another one following this MWC with the same standard format: 4 teams, league format, finals match to decide it all.

• Saturday games
• Start date of August 9th (2 weeks after mwc finals)
• 36-40 players (9-10 per team)
• Maps would be standard MWC staples
• Hopefully 4 new faces for captains (not just GKG and I) so that the results wouldn't be so predictable - Que up the flame responses. Limp,EW,Zak,Ska Argos,PK would be my suggestions for captains.

Tournaments are the only means to get good games anymore, but if you wana bitch about it so be it; it's not like hosting a tournament brings me satisfaction anyways. The only reason I have been organizing them is bc it seems everyone else is unwilling or incapable.

I like the start date, but I prefer sundays.

I'll play if I'm around... I have quite a bit of freedom coming up in August, so I can likely make matches.

Would make a good bridge to ffa league in September

Well after this weekends games i'll make a signup and see what type of commitment we get, it seems that more people are in support of it than not. I think I could probably grab a few old schoolers and my brother who would be more open to playing in a casual tournament.

MWC --> A commitment of a few months.

Draft Tournament --> 3-4 week commitment.

It certainly does. Time is a major factor in whether something is considered casual or not.

just because MWC2014 had 3 bye weeks per team during the course of it's run, and thereby lasted 2-3 months, does not mean it made the tournament more or less competitive.

also i don't get why you didn't sign up your "few old schoolers" and your brother to The Underdogs in MWC, because more than likely no one wants to bother with their tomfoolery in a 9-10 player-per-team draft tournament unless there are no better available options to fill the 7 playable slots on game day.

so what' the interest level on this? If people want it to happen I should prob start getting thing ready.
