REGULATIONS & MAPS BY ROUND:

A tourney that explores the art of the 4 start map as an underapreciated hybrid between 2t and true FFA. Teams of 4 players will battle to the death in 4 rounds of 4 games on 4 start maps. Registration is open until the moment the tourney begins & you may register by posting in this thread. There is a 5 player limit to teams (so that you can have one person sit if someone can't commit to all 16 games). You may also subtract players and add unregistered ones between, but not during, rounds. Only players who remain on the roster throughout the tourney will be credited with the win, however.

This tourney will tentatively take place on December 22nd at 2 pm est.


Scoring of Rounds

1st 10 points (tied for first 7 points)

2nd 5 points (tied for second 3 points)

3rd 2 points (tied for third 1 point)

4th 0 points


Overall Scoring

4 points per round won

Points from ties divided by number of winning teams (ex: 2 teams tie = 2 points each)

The games will be played in quick succession & there will be a 5 minute break between rounds.

It's just going to be a 1 day tourney. A short, fun, community, holiday season hacking and hewing with disemboweled gore and carnage being flung and manly online bonding. Haven't determined the exact date but it will take place sometime around Christmas.

4 teams play 4 rounds of 4 games of 4 start maps, whichever team wins the most rounds wins the tourney (you can register up to 5 if you think someone will need to sit a few). I have donated $10,000 to ren's myth figurine company™ to create a life size trow statue, which will serve as this tourney's trophy.

The individual games will be scored like this:

1rst 10 points (tied for first 7 points)
2nd 5 points (tied for second 3 points)
3rd 2 points (tied first 1 point)
4th 0 points

Haven't finalized the maps yet and I'm open to suggestions.

If you'd like to play sign up your team in this thread, spots are first come first serve but there's no registration cut-off other than the tourney itself.

Are you going to limit it to just 4 teams? I seems like there are enough Players around for more. Since it seems that tourneys are a big reason people are still active wouldnt it be better with more teams and maybe for the tourney to last longer?

If we get a bunch of extra teams trying to sign up I'll consider it but at this point I think that 16-20 players is a reasonable expectation.

Also, I don't have much time for myth.

Can PunkUser open the forum up for this yet?

If this is just a single day event, can't we just do it in this thread? Does it need a dedicated forum? I can of course create a tournament for stats, etc. though nearer the date.

Yea doesn't need a subforum as it stands. Like I said if I see some kind of explosion of interest in this I'll consider expanding the tourney. But as it stands, I envision this as a really fun day of myth & kind of a warm, holiday season get-together for the community.

This tourney will take place during the weekend prior to Christmas, that is, the sometime between Dec 20-23. The exact day and time will be determined once people start registering.

How does Sunday, December 22 starting at 2 pm EST sound to everyone? I'm guessing the tourney will last 3-4 hours.

We could spread it out over two nights, if people preferred. I feel like one 3-4 hour night is more doable though.

We're playing 16 maps in 4 rounds. You register by posting here or in the facebook thread, and you can add and subtract players from your roster up until the beginning of the tourney. You can bring subs in between rounds but not during rounds, but only registered players get cred for winning the tourney. All this info and more is in the first post if you scroll down.
