We've updated Myth II 1.8 with the fix for the myrk and non-random starts issues (in addition to a few other minor fixes). Please get the updated version of 1.8 here:

To verify that you're using the latest version, you should see "Build 424" in the top left corner of the main menu dialog.

Please note that this build is not compatible with the earlier buggy 1.8 release, so please have everyone get the updated version.

Since the myrk bug in the original 1.8 was critical and we want to avoid anyone using that version for Myth World Cup, this new hot-fixed version will be required on GoS soon. Sorry for the inconvenience... sometimes stuff slips through :S

Pyro is working on an updated version of it that works with 1.8. Don't quote me, but I have it on good authority that it's coming out soon(tm)
