MWC advertising

A single berserk reached us yesterday, after having come all the way over the mountains from the city of Willow, fourteen hundred miles away. He delivered to Alric a single package the size of a man's fist, wrapped in rags, and refuses to talk with anyone about events in the West.

MWC advertising

Post by Zak »

With MWC coming along what can we do to get new players interested in the game? It seems like the best time to advertise is when the servers are busiest, they'll get a better impression of the game.

Similiar to my failed Mentor project of a few years ago, we need an Ambassador system: good guys, preferably hosts, who will actively seek to engage new players and basically be a combination tour guide, tutor, and possibly therapist.

If someone can figure out the ascii for this: Å

like an A with a halo over it

That's obviously not a standard Ascii character, but if you mean ingame, it is one of the Myth characters theoretically, as they are from the "Mac Roman" set:

Apparently it's #129. I'm not sure if that's type-able though, I don't remember how Myth maps the "holding Win-key" to modifying the character code.

Goddamnit. "ascii" in the context of Myth refers to all the weird characters, most of which aren't even technically ascii which you have needlessly pointed out. Are you stalking/trolling me, or are you actually this annoying and unhelpful?

No it was a legitimate question. And I thought I did answer your question (i.e. the character code is 129).

Actually finland's GDP per capita is above that of the US' :ugeek: :

Luckily when cost of living is taken into account we edge them out :geek: :

Of course the latter numbers take taxes into account but not what you get back in benefits. Finland has the world's top ranked education system, for example.

Also I don't know why people think a new player would want to play in MWC.

New players would prefer a draft tournament way more. We should probably host a MWC then a follow up draft tournament again. MWC is all about the upsets, draft tournaments are more about participation. If who'sever hosts MWC, has the website ready in 2 weekends time it will be perfect. You will still have the majority of the active players' attention from the draft tournament plus more than a month for advertising the website/tournament before the shinanigans begin. that will also leave enough time for the draft tournament to follow MWC.

since zak has more than enough time to manage 5 dummy accounts, his own main account, and a winning draft squad, I nominate him to begin the myth plunder spam of 4chan and other associated nerd hubs.
we need to attack nerd hubs like an invasive species to convince "new" players to start playing myth.
