The Most Overrated Musicians/Bands Ever

Due to having a co-worker who has a very unhealthy obsession with Van Halen I've decided to come up with yet another list, let us begin:

5. Van Halen

Ok first off I will admit Panama and Jump are catchy songs and Eddie Van Halen was a pretty good guitar player, but lets be honest David Lee Roth sucked shit through a straw so who did the band get to replace him when he left originally? An even worse singer: Sammy Hagar. Jesus Christ you know how much the 80's really sucked when this band sold out stadiums and sold millions of records...

4. U2

Sure I like a couple of their songs, but Bono is so far up his own ass it makes me want to vomit and suffocate Bono's mother in a pile of her own shit. Furthermore do we ever need to hear With Or Without You or Sunday, Bloody Sunday on the radio ever again? No we really don't.

3. The Beatles

Lets get down to the facts: John had a whiny voice and the worst taste in women ever, Paul was a idiot who wrote the theme song to one of the worst Bond movies ever, George was one of the original puny emo/moody/loner musicians, Ringo was legally retarded, Sgt. Pepper was a terrible album, and Yellow Submarine is ridiculously fucking annoying. End of story.

2. Nirvana

It truly amazes me that college kids apparently still have posters of Kurt Cobain and Che Guevara on their walls and on t-shirts. Guevara was a commie revolutionary that somehow managed to get himself killed by Bolivians. I mean seriously apart from Butch and Sundance who else of note is dumb enough to get killed by Bolivians? As for Kurt Cobain thanks to him every dim witted queer bag who ever had sand kicked in their face decided they were singer-songwriters who wanted to share songs about their angst-ridden lives with the world whether the world wanted to hear them or not. Was he a good singer? Not really. Was he a good guitarist? That is debatable. What I do know is that because of him a whole generation of kids thought it was cool to dress like slacker/dirty hipsters who hadn't had a shower or bath in a month and since they couldn't get laid because they smelt worse than one of Hadiez's pre-workout shits, they decided to write about their depressing lives. Thank you so much for that Kurt. Only redeeming quality of Nirvana? Dave Grohl. It's too bad Liger doesn't post on these forums, I'd expect a 10 page article defending Che Guevara and Kurt Cobain.

1. Michael Jackson

Where do I even begin here? Abused by his father, he fulfilled every poor black man's dream by becoming a rich, successful white man and pedophile to boot. When you wonder why popular music sucks today you can thank MJ. Everyone from Gaga to Bieber cites him as an influence and it certainly shows. If you make a song with shitty lyrics, maybe a decent beat, then throw in a legion of dancers at concerts and on music videos, and add enough pyrotechnics to make it look like Kiss only used a couple of firecrackers at their shows, then you have successfully followed the Michael Jackson Guide To Being A Pop Star. What else can be said except fuck you Michael Jackson, fuck you very much.

Most OVERATED would be Michael Jackson. Really, his songs all sound like uninspired OVER PRODUCED garbage. Even a few years after they came out, ALL of his music sounds VERY DATED and uninteresting.
