So this has been happening as long as I remember, but when I am typing in the pregame lobby and the host starts starts the game exactly as I push a key on my keyboard it boots me to the lobby. Has anyone else had this issue or is it only me? This has never happened to me before gateofstorms so I'm guessing it's a server issue.

Can't be a GoS issue - once you are in the game lobby metaserver is out of the picture.

Other people have been having the same problem as me and apparently it has been happening within the last 2 project magma patches. So, yeah you are right. It isn't a server issue.
