Drunkens Most Anticipated games for 2014

A single berserk reached us yesterday, after having come all the way over the mountains from the city of Willow, fourteen hundred miles away. He delivered to Alric a single package the size of a man's fist, wrapped in rags, and refuses to talk with anyone about events in the West.

Drunkens Most Anticipated games for 2014

Post by drunken_deer »

Figured id post some good games coming out this year, since myth is becoming quieter its useful to have something to play when everyone is afk so here is my list.
Note that some of these have been recently released and are available to purchase. Here is the list in no particular order.

Galactic Civilizations III
Not much is known presently other than the excellent lore that's worth a read on the website, this is similar to Masters of Orion or you could relate it to or Victoria empire under rising sun, crusader kings, Europa universals titles. Even if you dont like the style the cinematic trailer is amazing and its about time the humans were the one stomping and wiping out aliens for a change as the dominant species in the galaxy.

Age of Wonders III:
A mix of turn based stratergy similar to what heroes of might and magic used to be (before they simplified it down to 4 resources instead of about 7) but with additional features when you build cities/towns as well as diplomacy between races and reactions that occur if you decide to migrate for instance or loot/sack a particular race they will disband and leave your armies if recruited for instance. Excellent game for those who like strategy as well as micro-management like myth series.

Talisman Digital edditon (now released)
If your a fan of board games in particular fantasy but cant be bothered finding players or setting up the cards ect, then this is for you. I played this game and worn the box down when I was a kid so this is just a personal favorite. The game was heavily bugged during early access but now is very playable with only 1 or 2 minor bugs if your unlucky.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall (released)

Its own individual campaign, separate from shadowrun returns campaign set in Berlin. If your a fan of steampunk (modern shooters mixed with swords and sorcery) this is an excellent buy. Not to mention my favorite aspect the class called the decker which is similar to your standard thief except instead of picking locks, he jacks into the matrix and fights iso, uses programs like spells, and can take over turrets and deactivate security like a thief would with traps which is so uniquely genius I had to mention it.

Destiny *AKA MYTH 4 the wind age*
If you have not had a read of the story/plot of destiny I suggest you do so and see how badly units like the cabal are to the trow. This could be another myth as the timing of the cycle is set 940 years into the future so they could have advanced weaponry. Anyway the traveler is the same like the leveler but a bit more mysterious to its actual purposes but if you consider the cycles of good and evil reigning like myth, the humans are coming out of that evil cycle with the traveler being the savior and destroyer of humanity..
Downside to this game is the multiplayer (MMO) and if your a fanboy of those boring grinding freeware games like dota and LoL you may have more interest than myself. Also nice note is that peter dinkilage (tyrion from game of thrones) does some of the voice acting :)

TLTR; just my own personal rumor speculation but its a multiplayer, rpg

New Wolfenstein
Not much info, comes out late in the year but it looks like the best and bloodiest shooter ive seen for a while

Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

If you have not played the first two, I highly recommend getting at least the 2nd to play, these in turn will follow onto the 3rd game and each course you take will effect the outcome/ending of your game. If I remember rightly there are at least 30 different endings.
