MWC 2021 Rules

Post by spoon »

Myth World Cup 2021 rules:

-2 pools (Trow and Forest Giant) organized by the TO

-Double Elimination format similar to last year (2020)

-7 players minimum to register a team

-12 players max per team

-Team Registration ends 1 week before the QR

-Fallback is each Sunday at 1pm EST / 10am PST (to be adjusted if necessary)

-Rosters are closed to player movements once the QR begins and a player plays a game with a team. Rosters will reopen again for DE1. They will close again before matches in DE2 begin.

-Illuminati Rule: A team that forms with a majority of players pulled from 2 or more teams will be disbanded at the discretion of the TO.

For example, if 2 teams exist and a 3rd team forms by pulling the 3 highest rated players from both teams. The formation of the 3rd team would severely undercut the competitive abilities of the first two teams, hampering the tournament.

-2 subs max per game (quality of subs decided and agreed upon by both team captains at the start of the match. if both captains cant agree and 1 wishes to pursue further, TO will make a decision)

-Subs must be signed to the tournament prior to the beginning of QR and DE round to qualify to play. This means their names must be in the free agents list or on a team not playing a concurrent game. Unregistered subs will be considered and at the discretion of the TO

-4 players per team (not including subs) minimum to play before a forfeit. This rule may suspended on an individual basis if the TO is notified at least 24 hours in advance of a match start time

-Available subs must be used by the team with the lowest number of players first

-After subs have been added, if teams are still unequal, the team with the higher number of players in attendance may play with a max of 2 more players in the game than the team with the fewer number of players in attendance

-Subs are not allowed if only 1 sub is available and would cause an unequal number of players between the teams unless agreed upon by both team captains

-Games may be scheduled by an agreement of the 2 team captains for any time prior to fallback. If games havent been played by fallback and no agreement can be reached, games will be played at fallback

-Game start times will include a 15 minute grace period to allow both team captains to decide they are ready to play. If at the end of the grace period one team is still not ready, that team forfeits the match
[11:34 AM]
-Games in a match can have a maximum of 5 minutes between them, as calculated using the GoS time logs.

For example, after a game has been played, both teams must ready up and the game must start within 5 minutes of the calculated ending of the previous game. Should this not occur, the TO will investigate further and make an appropriate ruling. Any bad faith activity judged by the TO will result in a match loss

-A match that is in progress may be rescheduled if both team captains and a simple majority (rounding up) of the members of both teams agreed to the reschedule. Once an agreement has been made to reschedule, the teams have up to the following weeks fallback to play the remaining games in the match (Minus the start time of any match that either team would be scheduled to play at that next weeks fallback). If a reschedule is not approved under these conditions, the match will continue. If the match does not continue due to one team not agreeing to continue, that team will lose the match

for example, if both team captains wish to reschedule and the game has 8 people playing on each team for a total of 16 players, both team captains and 4 people from both teams need to agree to reschedule the remaining games in the match. The teams will then have the rest of the week to schedule the remaining games in the match. If both teams are scheduled to play another team at the fallback of the next week, the teams will need to play the interrupted match and conclude it prior to the fallback start of the regularly scheduled match.
