QR3 News Post: AUGUSTUS ELIMINATIONS

Post by par73 »

Hello everyone!

So far we've gone through 3 weeks of MWC and played 55 games so far. We are just 5 games short of having played more games in Myth World Cup 2016 than the previous year's Myth World Cup. Excellent way to marathon everyone, and as we exit the care free qualifying rounds we look forward to the Double Elimination Bracket leading to our summer's end game.

We've been using a point system to determine the points for seeding DE this summer. This gave us a look at each teams performances against their Pool Competition on maps that were balanced between rounds, even though we would not be scheduling the same maps for each round. QR seeding would be determined by an average of the differentials of the scores in the matches played.

In example: Team A Scores 3, Team B Scores 1; Team A Differential +2, Team B Differential -2.

I will release the full point system later graphically, but here's the essentials:
1. B-T with 27.33
2. GoM with 16.68
3. TWF with 15.00
4. Syn with 8.33
5. n.i with -7.3
6. Age with -11.33
7. tIN with -16.00
8. PoR with -32.67

DE1 Scheduling goes as follows
1) BT vs 8) PoR Sunday 5pm
2) GoM vs 7) TINH Sunday 5pm
3) TWF vs 6) Age Saturday 8pm
4) The Syndicate vs 5) Noobs Inc Sunday 5pm

I'm not sorry if you don't like the point system, I think its fun and has certainly made the enviornment more entertaining for MWC for a multitude of reasons. For many game types, the Myth scoring system does not provide a spectrum of possible outcomes (e.g. in Last Man on the Hill you either win or you lose, and in Capture the Flag ties are common). The MWC16 scoring system was devised to remedy these problems and to make all game types worth roughly the same amount in competition.

After hearing a majority opinion from the 8 captains within the duration of the qualifying rounds that they would not like to use the 9-Point System to determine Eliminations, and would rather use W/T/L, we will be switching to that format. Enter jokes about me actually using a 5-Point System of 5/2/0 W/T/L below and I hope to see you next weekend.

why is the fallback of syn vs ni at 5pm est when it used to be at 3pm last week ?

i know we can reschedule, but if we can't, it's gonna be pretty bad for any euro who wants to play.
